Delivery Mode: This program is delivered in the classroom and through structured self- study. Practical face to face training is provided in carpentry workshops and live construction sites.
Duration: 96 weeks, including 75 study weeks and 21 weeks of holidays.
Study Load: 20 hours a week in the classroom and 4 hours of structured self-study
This is a trade qualification for carpenters in residential and commercial workplaces. It includes setting out, manufacturing, constructing, assembling, installing and repairing products made using timber and non-timber materials.

Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.
This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

This course is delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting, as well as structured-self-study and through workplace-based training.
During the first term students will participate in both classroom based and structured self-study training and assessment and commercial site / simulated workshop training and assessment which will cover the pre-requisite units for most of the units in the qualification. Students will commence this qualification by completing the unit CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry which is a pre-requisite for many other units (indicated with *).

At the commencement of each unit, your trainer and assessor will outline the specific assessment tasks that you are required to complete.
Be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 12.
Have an IELTS* score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following:
Note that other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted. You are required to provide your results so that we can confirm they are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
